Customer reviews have always been an important part of any businesses success, but nowadays their importance is even greater.


Getting customer reviews has three main benefits:


  • How to obtain testimonials that can be used in marketing

  • For a better understanding of what you are doing right and/or wrong as a business

  • To make your business more visible on Google


With regard to the latter, the importance of gathering accurate and honest evaluations of your services is continually increasing. Even if you have covered all the other elements of your local search strategy, you should not overlook the power of review data.


First, the strength of the consumer testimonial cannot be underestimated in its impact on different potential clients. For example, you can tell me you're exceptional, and I may also accept it as true, but if an unbiased third party says the same thing, it carries more weight, and I’d be a lot more willing to consider doing business with you. Statistics show that customers are more likely to make a purchase from a site that has reviews with a high rating.


One hesitation businesses have in soliciting online reviews is the fear of receiving a bad evaluations. But, receiving the atypical bad review isn't necessarily a bad thing. Actively replying to bad critiques and trying to resolve a problem illustrates for your potential clients that you care about your customers.


So, why are testimonials so important in Google’s algorithm? In Google’s pursuit to supply the most applicable and useful options for local searches, they not only need to know what your commercial enterprise does but how it is perceived. They do this, in big part, by seeing how many reviews you have got and what your average customer score is.

One warning – never pay for reviews. That consists of providing product incentives in trade for reviews, which is strictly against Google’s terms. You may be penalized, which would significantly harm your Google rating.
